Sauna Cover Care and Installation

YOUR SAUNA COVER GUIDE

Care for your sauna cover

Installation, cleaning, warranty support and how-to videos for your sauna cover.

Install your sauna cover

Fit the included clear plastic water-protection sheet

  1. Open the included clear plastic sheet fully over the sauna roof.
  2. Fit the outer sauna cover over the plastic sheet.
  3. Open the sauna-cover door.
  4. Trim only the excess around the front needed to hide the plastic when the cover door is open. Do not trim the plastic above the sauna roof.

Optional: To upgrade the included clear plastic sheet or replace it later, you can purchase a protective tarp to fit beneath your sauna cover. Basic tarps often cost around $10, depending on size and quality, at Amazon, Walmart, The Home Depot, Lowe’s and other retailers. Choose one large enough to cover the roof.

Warranty warning: Failure to use the supplied clear plastic sheet or a protective tarp as additional water protection, or trimming the protective layer above the sauna roof, may void your sauna-cover warranty.

Install the wind-protection snaps

The included screws are stapled to your printed guide. Remove and set them aside before installation.

  1. Close the cover around your sauna.
  2. Lightly tap each snap with a hammer to mark its location on the wood.
  3. Use a screwdriver to install the included screw at each mark.

Check after bad weather: The roof fabric resists water penetration, but it is sewn to the canvas sides. Thoroughly inspect the sauna for moisture after adverse weather.

Keep and follow any additional installation instructions supplied for your particular sauna cover. Contact us if the materials supplied differ from this guide.

Clean by sauna-cover material

Check the material on your order or ask us to identify it before cleaning. The general acrylic sheet and the Sauleda warranty specify different cleaners; use the instructions for your actual sauna-cover material.

Sauleda marine canvas sides

Use 1 cup of non-soap detergent per gallon of water. Wet the surface, apply the solution with a soft brush, and scrub gently. Do not use bleach.

Aqualon roof fabric

Use a mild soap solution, such as Ivory. Rinse thoroughly with clear water. Do not use bleach.

Other acrylic or Sunbrella sauna covers

Use these directions only for a sauna cover supplied with the general acrylic or the applicable fabric care instructions. That sheet describes acrylic marine/awning fabric as water repellent.

  • Hose off monthly with clear water to prevent dirt becoming embedded.
  • In most environments, a thorough cleaning is needed every couple of years.
  • Use natural soap, such as dishwashing liquid. Never use detergent.
  • Use cold to lukewarm water, never hotter than 100 degrees.
  • Air dry only. Never apply heat to acrylic fabric.

Use the current material-specific limited warranty terms below. Older orders are governed by the terms supplied with their order.

Register your product

Register your cover below. Have your order details and cover serial number ready.

10-year limited warranty — terms and exclusions

The 10-year limited warranty covers manufacturing defects in sauna covers from the original purchase date for the original purchaser. An approved covered defect will be repaired or the affected cover or component replaced, at our option. Normal wear, misuse, and improper maintenance are excluded.

Keep proof of purchase and your cover serial number. Obtain written Return Authorization before sending any item for repair or replacement. Unauthorized returns are refused.

Exclusions and claim requirements

Coverage does not apply to misuse or mishandling by the end user or dealer; damage due to faulty installation; use for which the product was not intended; unauthorized repairs; failure to perform periodic maintenance; shipping damage; damage caused by animals or birds; falling or hanging objects; water leakage through seams; riots or civil disturbances; or acts of nature, including wind, rain, snow, hail, earthquake, flood or smog. The limited warranty applies under normal non-commercial use and is void if the sauna cover is used for commercial purposes or is not regularly maintained, cleaned and used for its intended purpose.

Before a return, keep proof of purchase and obtain written Return Authorization from the cover manufacturer. No return will be accepted without prior written authorization, and unauthorized returns are refused.

Measuring

How to measure your sauna

Open video on its own

Read video instructions

Measure your custom sauna cover from the bare sauna. Start with the full outside width, depth, and height. Measure outside width across the widest points of the front. Include any projections, and record the actual width. Measure outside depth from the front face to the rear-most point. Keep the tape straight and record the actual depth. Measure overall height from the supporting surface to the highest roof point. Record the actual outside height. Measure the actual sauna front door width. Record it for cover-opening selection. For a corner model, measure every side width and the overall height. Measure D from the rear-right corner to the midpoint of the angled front. For peaked roofs, use the separate roof guide. Before ordering, check width, depth, height, and actual door width against the values you recorded. Measure twice before ordering.

Peaked & sloped roof · Measuring

Open video on its own

Read video instructions

First, choose the drawing that matches your actual roof: gable, single slope, or hip. Measure the real sauna, including its roof outline. For a gable roof, trace the ridge and each sloping roof face. Include the roof overhang shown on your selected drawing. Measure the roof at its outermost edges, then the widest outside sauna span. Record each requested length separately on the gable drawing. Record the eave height, the rise from eave to peak, and the overall height to the peak. Follow every remaining arrow on the sheet. For a single-slope roof, the high edge is above the front glass door, and the low edge is at the rear. Measure the full roof depth and width, including overhang. Measure the high front height by the glass door, then the low rear height. Mark the front and rear clearly on your drawing. For a hip roof, start with the widest exterior width and depth. The selected sheet also asks for wall and opening measurements. On the top view, record overall roof width and depth, then measure each line from peak to corner and peak to edge. Follow every ray shown. Complete every measurement field on your selected drawing in inches. Do not substitute an estimate for an unmeasured line. Add the requested front-facing sauna photo.

How to measure your cushion

Measure the bench surface where the cushion will sit. Clear the surface so both edges are visible. Measure the usable bench width from the left edge to the right edge. Keep the tape straight. Measure the usable seating depth from the front edge to the back edge. If you selected a second cushion size, repeat width and depth on that bench. Record each pair separately. Enter the matching width and depth in inches. Check each value against the correct bench before ordering.
